These gorgeous pear puff pastry tarts drizzled with honey and bourbon make a perfect Fall treat. The perfect appetizer for impressing friends & family and takes just minutes to prepare! They are baked upside down creating a caramel flaky treat with a hint of bourbon. Serve warm or at room temp for the next game day or cocktail party and watch guests devour them with delight! INGREDIENTS
- 4 oz Two Bitch Bourbon
- 1 box Frozen Puff Pastry (We used Pepperidge Farm)
- 3 to 4 fresh pears
- 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon or Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 4 Tbsps. honey
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tbsps. cup Heavy Cream
- Powdered Sugar for sprinkling
DIRECTIONS
- Thaw your puff pastry per directions on box (30 to 40 minutes). Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once thawed, slice your puff pastry into squares approximately 4 x 6 inches.
- Slice pears thinly and add to a mixture of bourbon and cinnamon. Let sit while preparing the next step.
- Apply a drizzle of honey to the parchment paper approximately 4 x 6 inches in size. Lay out approximately 6 slices of pears on top of honey stacking them gradually. Drizzle with a little more of the bourbon cinnamon mixture. Place puff pastry over the pears and crimp all edges with a fork.
- Combine egg and cream. Brush all over the puff pastry to encourage a golden brown crust.
- Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes. They will puff up and become golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool at least 10 minutes before flipping over. Use a spatula to carefully flip. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
