On 02/02/2020, Two Bitch™ Bourbon owners Joe and Lauren Luby welcomed their first grandson. His name is Keoki, which means ‘George’ in Hawaiian. While out to dinner at a local Italian restaurant they were surprised to see their grandson’s name on a dessert menu. Keoki Coffee: Kahlua, brandy, coffee and crème de cacao.
Keoke Coffee (normally spelled with an ‘e’ rather than an ‘i’), is a classic cocktail that was invented in a Southern California steakhouse called Bully’s. The cocktail came about when the restaurant’s founder, George Bullington, was experimenting with drinks with his staff. The drink was named after George until their Hawaiian chef suggested they give it a twist by naming it Keoke Coffee.
It was coincidental that the Italian restaurant spelled Keoki with an ‘i’ in their menu. It is only natural that a creative twist be made yet again to create the Two Bitch™ Bourbon Keoki Coffee in honor of little Keoki Luby.
