The Bluetick Blueberry Hound

The Bluetick Coon Hound is an American dog breed which dates back to the colonial days. This hound will hunt! Blueticks have a friendly and loyal disposition making them great companions. The Bluetick Blueberry Hound is just as friendly providing sweet cooling relief from the dog days of summer.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup  brown sugar
• 1 cup water
• 2 cups blueberries
• ice
• 2 oz Two Bitch™ Bourbon
• 1 oz lemon juice
• 1 oz blueberry simple syrup
• ginger-ale or club soda
• lemon peel garnish

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine ice, bourbon, lemon juice, and *Blueberry Simple Syrup to a shaker. Shake to frost.
2. Strain into a glass filled with ice and top with ginger-ale or club soda.
3. Garnish with lemon peel.

*BLUEBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP

1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar and water.
2. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved .
3. Add the blueberries to the pot and boil until the berries begin to deflate – about 10 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and cool for 5–10 minutes.
5. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
