Chocolate. Strawberries. Two Bitch™ Bourbon. Now you’re ready for romance!
These bourbon soaked, chocolate smothered strawberries make the ultimate “treat yourself” time. Or, treat the one you love with these berries and surely they will treat you back!
INGREDIENTS
- 6 strawberries (approximately)
- 1 cup Two Bitch™ Bourbon (don’t worry the infused bourbon can be saved and used!)
- 1 cup dark chocolate (chips or bar)
- 1/2 cup roasted salted pecans
DIRECTIONS
- Rinse your strawberries and pat dry.
- Add strawberries to a mason jar or bowl that has a cover. Place as many strawberries that will easily fit.
- Pour Two Bitch™ Bourbon over berries until they are submerged. Put a lid on and place in the refrigerator for 12 hours or over night.
- Strain berries over a large bowl to reserve the infused bourbon. Set Strawberries on a towel and allow to dry for 5 minutes. Resist the urge to lick the bourbon directly off strawberries.
- Meanwhile strain the remaining bourbon into a clean mason jar to use for later or make yourself a cocktail.
- Line a pan with parchment paper.
- Chop pecans finely and set them on a small plate.
- Add chocolate or chopped chocolate bar to a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 50% power for 20 seconds. Stir and repeat until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Melt it slowly to avoid burning the chocolate. Burnt chocolate is not sexy. Optionally, you can heat the chocolate in a double boiler if you are a certified chocolatier.
- Gently hold strawberry by the leaves and roll in the melted chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Roll chocolate berry in pecans and set on parchment paper lined tray. Chocolate will begin to solidify in about 15 minutes. Best served at room temperature. Refrigerate leftovers, but you won’t have leftovers.
