Bears know best – winter is for good long naps! The Winter Nap cocktail is the perfect pre-nap drink. On the other hand, this recipe can easily be made on a larger scale to serve to guests at your next big winter shindig! Nap not required.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz Two Bitch™ Bourbon
- 6 oz natural apple cider
- cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- optional: star anise
- cinnamon stick to garnish
- 1 Tbsp Butterscotch Sauce* (Mrs. Luby suggests way more!)
- optional: whipped cream
DIRECTIONS
- Bring apple cider, cinnamon stick, allspice and optional star anise to a light simmer (avoid boiling). Simmer for 15 min.
- Pour warm cider into mug and stir in bourbon.
- Drizzle with butterscotch sauce or serve on the side.
- Garnish with cinnamon stick and optional whipped cream.
*BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1tsp vanilla
In a saucepan over medium heat melt 1/4 cup butter and whisk in 1/2 cup light brown sugar. Add 1/2 cup heavy cream and whisk for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 tsp salt and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
